"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step" ~Lao-Tzu

I received a baby keepsake book from a friend at LDB's baby shower.  I remember she said something like, "You think you will write about all of the wonderful moments and milestones and then you realize years have passed and you still have a blank book."  Well my friend, you were right.  The book is somewhere in our memory box and three and a half years later blank pages remain. (So I have decided to give blogging a chance!)

Parenthood brings many surprises along the way.  One never can truly prepare for every situation.  As you know Linc began life with many challenges, several of which we were not aware of until time revealed them.  Delays in mobility, silent aspiration when swallowing and breathing issues which require oxygen.  With every piece of new news, Kyle and I rolled with the punches and scheduled each new referral suggested (to what seemed to be for every 'ologist imaginable).  It has not been easy, but with our faith, support system and one incredible boy, we know he will continue grow.

Linc has overcome many obstacles in his 3.5 years of life.  We are beyond proud.  He has recently reached a major milestone that we wanted to share with our amazing support system.   On December, 17th, Linc took his first independent steps!  We have a road ahead with PT and continued practice, but this Christmas Season brought a sweet gift of steps forward for our Linc-N-Log.
Our Orthopedic Surgeon once told us that distance, speed and time will vary for each person, but with determination and the willpower we will get there even if we arrive at a differ time.

Through trusting in our faith and meeting Linc where he is; knowing that he is exactly where he needs to be, we have peace in our hearts knowing that he has already moved mountains and he will continue to do so throughout his life.
